Battlefield 1943 Hits Xbox Live
Wednesday, July 8, 2009
As promised, EA and DICE have launched the downloadable shooter Battlefield 1943 today for the Xbox 360. Costing 1,200 Microsoft Points, the game ships out with four maps and takes the action to a World War II theatre based in the Pacific.
Also arriving on PlayStation 3 tomorrow, Battlefield 1943 sees a global challenge launch where players can contribute to a target of 43 million online kills. Once the target number is hit, the fourth map will unlock and become playable.
Battlefield 1943 is a multiplayer-only game that lets you enjoy the thrills of Pacific WW2 battles! Pick your path - be it as a rifleman, a steel fisted tank commander, or ace fighter pilot dog fighting to protect the skies. Play as a lone wolf or with your friends, coordinating to turn the tide of battle.
A free downloadable demo is sitting on Xbox Live right now but there's still no word as to when the PC version of the game will be available to purchase. Check back soon for final impressions.
